A Special Plea: Help TPO Grow!
Seasons Greetings Folks!
You know, this site is fairly new. It is barely one month old. It use to be located on a different server under a different domain name. Various circumstances forced me to get a new domain name and start over. It was an arduous task, but I am glad that I did it. The decision introduced me to Wordpress and I find this blog engine to be the cream of the crop! Props to Matt Mullenweg for such a great program!
What is my point in all of this? Simple. Since making the transition from old to new I naturally lost some viewers. I am only now beginning to get re-indexed in the web, and while viewership is growing quickly it is possible that many of you reading this post are seeing this site for the very first time.
What you may not know is that my workouts tended to be very steady for some time until the last two weeks. I sustained a slight injury to my right shoulder some months ago and it has nagged me a bit since then. I am uncertain as to how it happened, but recovery has been slow and tedious. I believe it has actually been about two weeks since my last workout. And boy can I feel it.
The good news is that I have been able to allow my shoulder to more completely heal and I am feeling like I can resume regular training in a few days. Also, I have a planned visit to the orthopedist Jan 2nd to make sure the healing process is moving along steadily.
Another side benefit of my injury/rehab is that during the last two months I have re-discovered a different style of training that I have not enjoyed for many years. Namely, bodyweight training (chins, dips, pushups, situps etc) and cables. Many of these workouts are documented in the Combat Training Category of the site. Check it out!
I suppose another factor affecting the frequency of training the last couple of weeks is diet, which has been somewhat less than stellar the last few months. In fact, it has been downright terrible, and not for lack of discipline either. With my medical condition such as it is, I find myself in tough financial straights. This web site is an attempt to remedy the problem, and here is where you come in.
I am aggressively seeking vendors who wish to be affiliates and advertisers on this site, in order that this site would be self supporting. The vendors will be hand picked by yours truly. Don’t worry, I have over 30 years of strength training experience to help guide me in that process. The beneficiary of that expertise will be you, the visitor. I will be offering my visitors the opportunity to shop at the very best health and fitness sites on the net. I am already in negotiations with several leading sports nutrition and strength training companies. As the number of affiliates and advertisers grow, I will be asking you, the viewer, to please patronize them:). Visit there sites. Try their products, and know that if I recommend it, it is good.
As far as viewership is concerned, I want to make a plea to my visitors. TPO is growing daily, but I want it to grow faster. The more traffic we can get, the better a chance we have of driving more business to vendors and the more attractive TPO will be to potential vendors. If you like this site I want you to do a few of things:
- Bookmark us: that almost goes without saying.
- Place a link to us somewhere on your site if you have one: the more sites linked to TPO the better!
- Spread the word: tell others about this site!
- Post comments: that means you will have to register! Your participation makes the site that much more interesting, so take a few moments to register. Save your user name and password and start commenting!
- Keep coming back: we need you!
- And do not forget to patronize our affiliates and advertisers!
That is a lot to ask, I know. But the truth is we cannot make this site successful without your help. In return for your active participation, we promise to make this site better each and every month. We will do our part by rewarding you with helpful information, useful contributions from other writers, superb product and service recommendations and more. That is our pledge to you.
Thank you and God Bless
