WordPress Contact Form with Spam Protection Fixed

Posted by webmaster On August - 13 - 2007

Update: THE WORDPRESS CONTACT FORM PLUGIN FOR WORDPRESS 2.06 IS OFFICIALLY WORKING.

Keep in mind that this plugin is for WordPress version 2.06. The newest version of WordPress is now 2.7. If you have not upgraded your WordPress, I suggest you do that first.

I use the Contact Form on my blog, which is a WP 2.7 blog, and it performs just fine, so I highly recommend this plugin until I find something better. The latest Contact Page Plugin is version 3.18 and can be found here

I enlisted the help of several buddies at Open Designs. A bunch of great guys over there.

At any rate, we combed over the original authors PHP code and we were able to find some silly issues that were leading to a handful of annoying problems for some users. I also located some bad additional code that prevented the form from validating. Anyone who knows me knows how crazy that makes any web designer.

OK, so now that the wp-contact-plugin is working across several platforms, I feel safe in making it available to you once more.

Now THIS is the sort of gym yours truly likes to train in. I love it. There is nothing like a barbell in your hands. Iron keeps you young!

A gym is any place an athlete and his training apparatus meet: chinning and dipping bars in the basement, the track and field at a local high school, stairs and hills in the neighborhood, a punching bag hanging in the garage or a bar and a heap of dinged plates in the corner of a bedroom.

I started with the chins and dips at the very tender age of eight and graduated without haste to the weights under the bed by my tenth year. As an authentic musclehead by the end of my teens, I pursued my master’s degree through research and study at various muscle institutes across the globe. There were numerous gymnasiums of prominence, from New York to Rhodesia, and they served me well.

Dave had an incredible physique then. He has one to this very day. He looks just great! You go Dave!

I park a block from the gym and can hear the clanking of plates echoing down the street. Come to think of it, I hear the clanking of plates in my dreams, under anesthesia and under water.

The doctors say it’s an occupational hazard, like repetitive-use syndrome, battle fatigue or post-traumatic stress. I listen to the irregular, high-pitched concussions even when I don’t hear them. They are my built-in metronome, my internal clock, my heartbeat, my rhythm and rhyme, my song.

Time to get to work. First, I sit in the corner by the lifting platform, collect myself and check out the scene. The flight of stairs from the parking lot knocks me out. You laugh but my gym bag weighs as much as a Chevy short block. Got my stuff in there: food, drink, special gadgets, wraps, belt and things that crawl and go bump in the night. I also have WD-40, never again to be mistaken for underarm deodorant… Yow-za, Momma!

Banner-Header Changes On The Way

Posted by webmaster On August - 7 - 2007

Ever since I adopted this three column theme for Total Physique, I wanted to change the images up top to reflect strength, power, athleticism, wellness and the like. I have been looking for generic images that would display my passion for lifting and other forms of strength and it’s just been challenging to find images that fit. So, the quest continues, but I think I like the first two images to the right. Now if I can just get the last image I will be ever so happy!

UPDATE:

OK the images are now done, more or less, unless someone comments and tells me they do not like them, in which case I will try once more…but I think this looks good enough for now.

Boosting Endogenous Growth Hormone: The Better Way

12/9/2005 – Increasing your own natural endogenous levels of growth hormone is safer and in the long run more effective for increasing growth hormone levels and maximizing body composition than using exogenous GH. There are two main reasons for this view.

The Problems with Exogenous Growth Hormone

Growth hormone levels decline as you get older. And athletes have found that increased levels of growth hormone helps to optimize body composition, increasing muscle mass and decreasing body fat.

The Different Diets

In the low carb group of diet gurus there are proponents of every level of dietary carbohydrate intake from the almost zero amounts espoused by the ketogenic diet used to treat some forms of epilepsy in children to the Zone diet that proposes that only 40% of the daily calorie intake come from carbohydrates.
