As you can see, I have not posted to the site in some time.
The reason is simple. What was left of my body after my first hospitalization (from 167 to 135 pounds) has been ravaged by yet more pneumonia and a two week stay in the hospital near to the point of death. My body weight dropped to a scant 123 pounds. I was nearly dead several times. The double pneumonia was very, very hard on on this tired body.

Lately I have been posting thoughts and musings that on the surface seem to have little to do with strength training. However, if you read the posts you will see that in fact the posts do tie in to helping you achieve your strength goals in one way or another. This is just such a post.
Any time I can suggest a thought or idea that helps a reader enjoy life a bit more, move closer toward a PR in a lift, or maybe lose a few extra pounds or gain a few as the case may be, I feel like I have done my job. This post is going to show you a cool way to save some money that can then be used to help you buy some Quicklock Dumbbells from Ironmaster, or maybe the next best protein supplement on the market. Your choice.
Anyway you look at it saving money is a good thing, and freeing up a few extra dollars that can be then invested into your health is even better, right?

OK, granted, this movie/slideshow has nothing to do with strength training, but must we be so pigeonholed in life that we Ironheads cannot appreciate the finer things in life? Perish the thought!
What if you wanted to just relax after a brutal session, or meditate just prior to a set of PR Squats? What are you going to? Listen to Slipknot? Or maybe War Machine, by KISS? That might work for Gene Rychlak when he is trying to bench over 1000 lbs, and hey, that works for him.
But some of are are civilized, are we not? How about trying something different for a change.

I recently sent an email to a friend of mine. His name is John. John is older than I am, and a dear friend. I trust him, I look up to him. He has been assisting me since the ordeal of my life, which began some 6 months ago in Williamsburg Virginia. After I read the email I sent John, I felt that this web site was the perfect place to re-post it.

As many visitors have probably seen, my posts here at TPO have been so few and far between many of you might have wondered if I dropped off the face of the planet or simply stopped caring about this web site. Neither could be further from the truth. Well, maybe that is not altogether true, for I nearly did almost drop off the face of the planet….

Click this to read about the images on this site
The images at Blues Travels are of two types: Flash and DHTML. Mostly I use DHTML. The images (and even some of the link-text on this site) are controlled simply by clicking. The images on this page, for example, are clickable thumbnails. Once they are clicked, they expand. Once expanded, they can be grabbed and moved around with your mouse. To close them, click inside the image a second time. It might take a bit of practice, but you are a smart cookie. I have faith that you will master the skill in no time flat!
Back in the mid-90’s I spent a good amount of time training at a gym in Williamsburg VA where my girlfriend lived at the time. This was one of those gyms that hearkened back to the 60’s era, when gym floors were made out of wood, the stack machines squeaked and the bars had just the right amount of rust on them. The name of the gym was Iron-Bound Gym. I loved this place. I had some of the best workouts of my life there. The last time I trained there was around 1998.

This is a fairly lengthy post, but it is very important to the function of this web site. So, I ask that you take a few minutes to read the entire post because this post is one of the more important posts I will be placing at TPO.
When Was The Last Time You Felt Great, I Mean Really Great?
Was there ever a time in your life when you felt like you had an endless supply of energy? Was there ever a time when every morning you felt as fresh as a daisy and you were ready to take on the world? Do you feel that way now?
Would you like to feel that way again? If you answered “yes”, then I am going to cut right to the chase and challenge you to read the rest of this entry, because I honestly believe I may have a solution to those early morning doldrums that most people start to experience as they grow older. And no, I am not talking about Viagra. I am not talking about gimmicks. I am talking about basic, sound nutrition in the form of four products that I swear by.

Hi folks.
My Apple Laptop has been having some trouble with its data transfer, Superdrive and a few other areas.
Since my Apple Care Plan is still in force I decided it would be best to send it off to Apple. It’s all under warranty, which is a good thing. Moreover, since I just got my first backup drive I can now safely ship my system off without any worries should something unforeseen happen.
What this means is that beginning Tuesday Sept 4, Total Physique and Blues Travels will not be seeing any new posts for about a week to ten days, unless I can gain access to a public library computer room or something similar. However, since this all coincides with an impending move, it is highly unlikely that I will have much time for anything like that.
Just bare with us and be patient. I will be back before you know it. In the meantime, enjoy the rest of the site.
Thanks
Tim

For the last week we have been testing a new layout on the eyes of visitors. This particular layout seems to be gaining favor with folks, though there are some bugs we are trying to work around if we are to keep the theme.
While you are visiting, you may experience occasional hiccups as changes are implemented, ideas scuttled, concepts rethought and general mayhem ensues. If so, let not your heart be troubled. We have backups galore and are able to restore in a moments notice, God willing.
A word about a logo image
We could use your help. We want a great logo image to adorn the top banner area. If you are good at graphics art and if you would like some exposure, please get in touch with us via the CONTACT button at the top of any page. Send us some sample ideas. Make this site REALLY stand out.
We want a raw look. Something that really shouts no pain no gain, sweat, guts and glory. Ideas are welcome.

IronOnline Health and Fitness Database
Dave and Laree Draper have a great web site going on at Dave Draper’s IronOnline
More to the point, his web site is largely run by his capable wife Laree. They make a great team I think. Anyway, there is a great WIKI of strength and fitness at their web site that is a growing database of all things strength.
Visit IronOnline Health and Fitness Database and try using there database search feature. See what you can find!
Now, if I can just keep up with Dave and Laree!
